Counter sale, so no service. Friendly. Simple place with outstanding food. Burnt ends on Sat and Ribs and Chicken Sun. Collards are great. Ribs are meaty and fresh. They are not fall off the bone type.

Not only is the food delicious, but the owners & guests are so friendly...feels like family! And, I was pleasantly surprised to find that on Sunday evenings, they hand out BBQ chicken to those in need. I will definitely return.

Umbeliveble good fresh BBQ, You can taste the excellent quality of the meat. Being a carnivore, i could not ask anything better than that. I got a pound of brisket and no sides. The place is clean,friendly people.

Tonight was our first time trying Mahon‘s barbecue. We were greeted by the mother-daughter duo and they were so kind from the moment we walked in. They looked like they were happy to see us and that always feels good. My wife and I both ordered the chicken leg hindquarter dinner with a couple of sides and dessert. While we were waiting, they offered us to try a sample of their burnt ends, which were absolutely delicious. We brought it home and just finished eating and let me tell you not only was the meat “fall off the bone“ delicious, the spices on it and the barbecue sauce they gave for just incredible. It is a huge portion of food for the price and I was pleasantly surprised! We will definitely be returning again and supporting this great business! We highly recommend them! - Mike and Jennifer

My name is David, I’m a OTR driver with Carroll Fulmer. Any time I get to Groveland Florida I make sure to eat here at Mahones!! Excellent food, plenty of it and awesome folks working there!! Tender pulled pork, great potatoe salad and the banana pudding can’t be beat!! They definitely go above and beyond to make the food awesome and the owner has been known to bring the food to the driver at Carroll Fulmer who can’t get to them!! Great job folks!! Definitely keep it up!!

Wow, finally went to Mahon's BBQ. Since moving here a year ago, we heard good things about the BBQ. Surprised that you can eat there. Lots of specials and combos to choose from. I ordered the chicken and rib combo and it did not disappoint. We sampled the brisket burnt ends and it was savory. That sweet BBQ sauce is a killer! I am glad we have a great BBQ place here in Groveland, Florida. Can wait to go frequently to get other BBQ goodies.

I don’t often give 5 stars on a restaurant but I felt like this one deserves it. We were in town just for the day as a vendor at a local event, and just wanted something quick nearby that was also gluten friendly (since I have an intolerance, even with cross-contamination). This place hit the mark. They offer a sample of burnt ends that has a sweet glaze, and it was so good that it was what my husband ordered, with collard greens and baked beans, which were also tasty, and an Arnold Palmer, that he enjoyed. I got ribs (seasoned not sauced, which I prefer), cole slaw (not drowned in mayo and sugar, which I also prefer), and deviled eggs, which I’ve never seen offered before but I loved, and a gigantic cup of tea. They were all generous portions and very affordable. I also really liked the mustard sweet BBQ sauce that was on the table. The atmosphere was small and cozy, like you were at a southern grandma’s house. The service was super friendly, and it was obvious that they had quite a lot of regulars. I didn’t have any gluten reaction afterwards and overall was very happy! I wish we were closer because we would definitely become one of their regulars!!

Delicious food, great service and they have added more items to the menu. They have a dessert menu now, which includes banana pudding and key lime pie. They also serve Burnt Ends and Philly Cheesesteak Subs. Great place for some good old BBQ.
